3rd Installment of PWC's Purposeful Diversity Series - The Psychological Safety Blueprint: Foundations for Resilient Teams
Tuesday, June 3, 2025 (5:00 PM - 7:30 PM) (EDT)
Description
This is the third program offering in PWC Boston Chapter's "Purposeful Diversity" Series. The intent of this workshop is to provide education and foster dialogue within our community in how to be a professional ally in the A/E/C industry. Benefits to attendees include networking and dialogue with industry peers, access to an expert facilitator, and development of skills, tools and necessary language to demonstrate and encourage psychological safety in your workplace.
Psychological safety is a critical concept for successful teams and the people who lead them. Harvard Business School professor Amy Edmonson defines psychological safety as “felt permission for candor.” But what does that really mean? And how can we intentionally foster a psychologically safe workplace? Through studies and anecdotal interviews with staff and leaders, it’s clear that thriving organizations elevate this concept as a core value of their business culture. Benefits are numerous; people share ideas without fear of repercussion. Communication improves, empathy and curiosity support calculated risk-taking. Innovation and entrepreneurship become possible. People are deeply engaged and invested in each other’s and the company’s success. Personal and organizational resilience increases. Please join us in a unique, curated engagement with expert facilitator, Sacha Thompson. This event will offer attendees the background and tools to understand conditions and behaviors that contribute to psychological safety. Expect breakout groups and authentic, open conversations in a supportive environment.
